“May our blue sapphire jubilee shine bright
– By Dingky Munda
Guiding us forward, through life’s morning light.
Cheers to many more years, of life and love,
Of friendship and memories, gifts from Above.
Happy 65th Jubilee classmates, relatives and friends to us so dear
May our bonds of friendship, forever persevere!”
Talk about everlasting brotherhood! The Ateneo de Davao High School Class of 1960 proved that some friendships only get better with age as they gathered to mark an extraordinary 65th-anniversary celebration!

The festivities culminated on Saturday night, November 29, 2025, but the bonding began earlier with a joyous three-day reunion. At the beautiful clubhouse of North Township, these gentlemen—all now happily cruising through their 80s—came together for a spectacular closing night, graciously hosted by classmate Nick Alcantara.
The evening began with a poetic touch. A touching poem was penned by Amado “Dingky” Munda Jr., affectionately known to his classmates as the “Class President for Life.”

Among the distinguished alumni was former Davao City Mayor Benjamin de Guzman, who recently celebrated his own big 8-0 this year! He joined classmates ranging in age from 80 to 84, all sharing stories and robust laughter.
The mood was perfectly captured when Mar Ong Ante was “egged” on by his pals to say a few words. He had the room roaring with laughter when he quipped that while some of them might struggle to remember what they had for breakfast, they could recall their high school antics “like it was just yesterday!”

This gathering was more than just a reunion; it was a vibrant celebration of life spanning six incredible decades. Though the years may have added a few more gray hairs (or less hair!), the men still recognize the same youthful smiles and hear the same hearty laughs that are deeply entrenched in their memories.

Classmate Dr. Toti Morales provided a heartfelt perspective on their enduring group. He shared that while their original batch was around 92 members, many have “gone to the great beyond.” He counts about 32 who still actively join their get-togethers and keep in touch regularly through a virtual group chat—proving these old-school friends are very much new-school savvy!
Dr. Morales summed up the beautiful evening perfectly: “We celebrate for being here,” he said. Cheers to 65 years and many more to come!
