MAKATI CITY, Philippines — Asiabest Group International, Inc. (PSE: ABG) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, ABG Modular Development Corp. (ABG Modular), is now operational and accelerating its expansion plans as it positions itself as a key player in the Philippines’ growing modular construction sector.
Established to design, manufacture, and deploy prefabricated concrete modular structures (PCMS), ABG Modular aims to address critical infrastructure needs across education, housing, and community development projects through faster, more efficient, and scalable construction solutions.
To support its growth trajectory, the ABG Board has approved the subscription of an additional Php 70 million capital infusion to ABG Modular from its initial subscription of Php10 million. The Board has likewise approved plans to increase ABG Modular’s authorized capital stock from Php 100 million to Php 300 million, providing capacity for future expansion and funding requirements.
“ABG Modular represents a major step in ABG’s transformation into a vertically integrated supply, logistics, and manufacturing platform,” said Jan Michael Lim, investor relations officer of ABG. “With modular construction gaining traction globally and locally, we are building the capabilities needed to deliver projects faster, more efficiently, and at scale while creating long-term value for our shareholders.”
The additional capital will be used to expand manufacturing capabilities through new formworks, molds, and production equipment, invest in automation technologies, support housing demonstration projects, and strengthen working capital as the company pursues a growing project pipeline.
ABG Modular works closely with Concrete Stone Corp. (CSC), one of the country’s established precast concrete and aggregates providers, leveraging CSC’s manufacturing expertise and supply capabilities to support project execution and delivery.
The company has already demonstrated its modular construction capabilities through a PCMS classroom project in Mariveles, Bataan. In March 2026, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the CSC manufacturing facility and inspected prefabricated classrooms deployed at Mariveles National High School – Cabcaben Annex (Alasasin), highlighting the potential of modular construction to help address the country’s classroom backlog through faster project delivery.
ABG Modular is also advancing opportunities in the residential sector, with several initiatives under evaluation that could highlight the benefits of its PCMS technology. Beyond education and housing sectors, ABG Modular is expanding into the tourism and hospitality sector, where speed of construction and design flexibility are increasingly valued. The company is currently pursuing opportunities in resort and villa developments, leveraging its modular construction expertise to help developers deliver high-quality accommodations more efficiently and bring projects to market faster.
Industry demand for modular construction continues to rise as developers seek solutions that reduce construction timelines, improve quality consistency, and provide greater predictability in project execution. Through ABG Modular, ABG aims to capitalize on these trends while helping address some of the Philippines’ most pressing infrastructure challenges.
“From classrooms and housing to tourism developments and community facilities, we see modular construction becoming an increasingly important part of the country’s development agenda,” Lim added. “ABG Modular is being built to meet that demand with speed, quality, and scalability.”
