THE OFFICE of the Vice President (OVP) has extended its deepest condolences to the victims of the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that struck the provinces of Cebu and Leyte on the night of Sept. 30, and announced the immediate mobilization of its regional offices to deliver assistance.
In a media release dated Oct. 1, 2025, the OVP affirmed its commitment to aiding the affected communities and initiating swift recovery efforts following the tragedy.
The OVP conveyed its prayers “for the peace of the departed, the healing of the injured, and the swift rehabilitation of the communities affected by the tragedy.”
To facilitate the rapid distribution of aid, the OVP will channel assistance through three key regional hubs:
- The OVP–Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor Satellite Office
- The OVP–Eastern Visayas Satellite Office
- The OVP–Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office
The vice president also offered prayers for the affected citizens to have the “courage, strength of faith, and hope” to overcome the challenge presented by the disaster.
