SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go joined the Senate in recognizing the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide (JILCW) on its 48th founding anniversary, citing the organization’s decades of religious ministry and humanitarian service to Filipino communities.
In his co-sponsorship speech for Proposed Senate Resolution No. 672, Go expressed support for the measure congratulating and commending JIL Worldwide as it marks its 48th anniversary on October 10, 2026.
“What started as one man’s step of obedience to God and a commitment to fulfill the Great Commission has grown into an impactful global ministry, bringing Christ and His message to all corners of the globe,” Go said.
JIL Worldwide traces its beginnings to 1978, when Brother Eddie Villanueva began preaching the Gospel to a Bible study group of 15 students at what is now the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
The church has since grown to more than one million members, with a presence in dozens of countries worldwide.
The church’s official anniversary page confirms that its 48th anniversary celebration is set for October 10 at Luneta in Manila.
“This remarkable growth is a testament to the power of faith, obedience, and a steadfast commitment to the Great Commission. But beyond the numbers and the churches established, we recognize the meaningful impact of JIL in the lives of countless Filipinos,” he said.
“Through medical and dental missions, feeding programs, disaster relief operations, and other humanitarian efforts, JIL has brought not only faith, but also hope, compassion, and tangible help to our fellow Filipinos, especially during times of need,” Go added.
Previous Senate resolutions recognizing JIL have likewise cited the church’s community programs, disaster-response efforts and assistance to poor and underserved Filipinos.
Go also acknowledged the leadership of Brother Eddie Villanueva and the service of JIL pastors, leaders, workers, and members who have contributed to the organization’s ministry.
“We also recognize the dedication of Brother Eddie Villanueva, as well as the pastors, leaders, workers, and members of JIL who have devoted their lives to this mission,” he said.
He likewise recognized Senator Joel Villanueva, saying his public service reflects a continuing commitment to serving fellow Filipinos.
Go said JIL’s nearly five decades of work demonstrate how religious faith can be expressed through concrete service to individuals, families, and communities.
“For 48 years, the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide has been a testament to how faith translated into action can bring meaningful change to individuals, families, and communities,” he said.
As JIL celebrates another milestone, Go expressed hope that the organization would continue its ministry in the Philippines and abroad.
“I congratulate all the members of the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide on this joyous celebration of God’s faithfulness for 48 years,” Go stated.
“May JIL continue to bring Christ—His message of faith, hope, and love—to Filipinos and people around the world, and remain steadfast in fulfilling the Great Commission,” he added.
“Mabuhay ang Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide! Happy 48th anniversary!” Go concluded.
