Founded just three months ago, WI carved out a unique niche in the city’s entertainment landscape and drew packed crowds night after night.
For Davao comedian and vlogger Wang Ising, founder of WI, the journey to open the bar was deeply personal.
Wang Ising points first to what matters most: family, and to champion fellow local Bisaya comedians working within Davao’s vibrant comedy scene.
Full comedy experience
While other venues lean on live bands or disco setups, what sets WI apart from traditional entertainment spots is that it delivers a full-comedy experience.

“Ang naka unique is full comedy gyud siya tanan. Tanang mga performer is klase-klaseng performance, kanta, sayaw, magpakatawa, tanan,” Wang Ising said.

Wang Ising said that to keep audiences constantly entertained, performances require constant reinvention.
“Naa gyud ubang ma-performance na mabalik namo, pero paningkamotan gyud namo nga every month magpakita mig mga bag-o na performance,” the founder added.
The team continuously works to twist, reshape, and present fresh material monthly to keep returning patrons engaged.
Juggling content creation and business
Wang Ising also draws motivation from humble beginnings before eventually building a way up to the content creation world.
Wang Ising TV has already built a strong following through social media, reaching 1.5 million followers and sharing humorous skits, vlogs, and family milestones.
As both a content creator and business owner, he said balancing the two is easy because the bar grew out of the world he already knew.
“It’s smooth, because this is where I come from,” Wang Ising said.
The comedian credited online followers, the guests, fellow comedians, and God for the bar’s success. “Without them, I could not have built WI.”
The comedy bar offers performances from Bisaya comedians and drag performers, including but not limited to Wang Waray, fellow vloggers Tatadaem, Shamcey, and others.
A good break from daily grind
Entering its third month of operations, the bar’s reception has exceeded expectations, as the bar doesn’t just attract locals but also visitors from Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, and Davao Oriental who regularly make the trip just to witness the shows.
Wang Ising Comedy Bar is now accepting reservations for daytime events and exclusive evening functions, providing a venue for celebrations, private parties, corporate gatherings, and other special occasions.
