OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI, in coordination with regional and local police units, arrested a live-in couple and confiscated over ₱3.5 million worth of suspected illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation at 5:18 p.m. in Purok 16, Barangay San Miguel, on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Authorities identified the suspects as “Enting,” 39, and “Janice,” 37. They allegedly conspired to sell a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected Methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth ₱7,000 to an undercover operative.

Following the arrest, joint forces recovered nine additional transparent plastic sachets of varying sizes containing suspected shabu. The seized drugs weighed a total of approximately 517 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱3,515,600.

Operatives also confiscated assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust marked money. Participating units included the PDEA XI, the Police Regional Office XI-Regional Intelligence Unit, the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office, and the Compostela Municipal Police Station.

The arrested suspects are currently detained, facing formal charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

PDEA XI regional director Atty. Benjamin G. Gaspi reiterated the agency’s commitment to ramping up anti-drug operations across the region to dismantle local distribution networks.

He further urged the public to support law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities to ensure a safer, drug-free Davao Region.
