Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct emergency power interruptions on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, affecting customers in Davao City and the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).
The first switching power interruption is necessary to facilitate emergency repairs in Ecoland Substation. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes at any time between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes at any time between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
Specifically affected are customers from Davao Light Ecoland Substation along Tulip Drive to Quimpo Boulevard up to LTO Boulevard Office, including portions of Eco West Drive; from Davao-Cotabato Road corner Acacia to World Palace, including First Avenue, Mangga Street, and Champaca Street; also passing through Quimpo Boulevard.
Meanwhile, customers from Quirino Avenue to Bankerohan, including Fr. Selga Street, San Pedro Extension, Camus Extension, and portions of A. Pichon Street, from Quirino Avenue to WS Shopping Center, will also experience the 30-minute transfer of loads at any time between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m.
To facilitate the necessary work, a 3-hour power interruption will also be implemented from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. on the same day, affecting customers from World Palace along Acacia Street to Bolton Bridge, and nearby areas.
Lastly, an emergency power interruption will be implemented in IGACOS to facilitate urgent vegetation clearing along Kinawitnon.
This will be for 5 hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., affecting customers from Kinawitnon Rotunda to Mambago B, Mambago A, San Miguel via Kinawitnon Road up to Phil-Power Ventures (formerly MGC) and to Catagman, Amaranta Beach, portions in Limao and nearby areas, and to Tagbitan-ag area.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these emergency power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
