MAKATI CITY, Philippines – ABG Modular Development Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Asiabest Group International, Inc. (PSE: ABG), formally handed over five prefabricated classrooms to the Department of Education (DepEd), providing safe classrooms for a public school in General Santos City.
ABG Modular supplied one single-story building containing five classrooms to Romana C. Acharon Central Elementary School. The classrooms were delivered under DepEd’s Basic Education Facilities Program, which aims to provide students and teachers with a safe learning environment following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck near Sarangani in June.
At Romana C. Acharon Central ES, the earthquake damaged several classrooms and disrupted classes for approximately 4,460 learners. The school was compelled to implement blended learning and shifting schedules while damaged buildings underwent structural assessment.
The five-classroom building supplied by ABG Modular was manufactured at the Palanas Precast Plant in Leyte through its ongoing partnership with Concrete Stone Corp. (CSC). The classrooms were delivered with school furniture and can accommodate up to 45 learners each, allowing the school to restore part of its classroom capacity without waiting for conventional construction to be completed. Highlighting the strength of prefabricated concrete modular systems (PCMS), the classrooms are designed to withstand a magnitude 8.0 earthquake and winds of up to 340 kph.
Harry B. Villanueva, Principal III of Romana C. Acharon Central ES, expressed his gratitude for the rapid completion of the classrooms, explaining that the initial timeline of a five-day construction period was shortened to three. Villanueva also noted that these classrooms would help address the class disruptions caused by the earthquake and provide learners with durable, long-term learning spaces.
The project’s full implementation cycle—from fabrication to delivery and on-site construction in GenSan—was completed within 14 days. Delivery from the Leyte plant to GenSan was handled by Industry Movers Corp. (IMC). IMC is set to become one of the operating companies of ABG.

Alfredo Comendador, Jr., President of ABG Modular. “We manufactured the major components off-site, and by successfully delivering the five classrooms within 14 days—from manufacturing to the actual finishing and furnishing of the classrooms—this is a testament that we can deliver decent learning spaces, especially to areas struck by a major calamity.”
With the country facing a backlog of more than 166,000 classrooms, ABG Modular believes that PCMS can complement conventional school construction. Its locally manufactured and standardized components can support faster classroom delivery across multiple sites while maintaining structural resilience, accessibility, and a conducive learning environment.
As it seeks to scale this approach nationwide, ABG will hold its Annual Stockholders’ Meeting (ASM) on August 11, 2026, where the company will update shareholders on its recent developments and strategic direction, including the continued growth of ABG Modular.
