NCCC Supermarket is hosting its first pickleball tournament on April 25-26 at Matina Square Pickleball in Davao City, with proceeds benefiting the House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer, Inc.
For over a decade, NCCC has partnered with House of Hope, providing a “home away from home” for young cancer patients through housing, medicines, and holistic support to ensure no child fights alone.
The event features men’s and women’s doubles competitions in low and high intermediate categories, with winners receiving ₱15,000 for first place, ₱10,000 for second, ₱5,000 for third, plus medals and Joola paddles.
Lafayette Lim, CEO of NCCC Group of Companies, underscored that the tournament is about more than competition
“We recognize that the greatest victories don’t always happen on the court. They happen in the quiet, courageous battles fought every day by the most vulnerable members of our community,” Lim said.
Mccoy Camarote, tournament director, also noted that this tournament stands out for its deeper purpose of giving hope to kids with cancer.
“This one is different because there is a purpose, and that purpose is actually giving hope, especially to kids with cancer,” Camarote emphasized.
Lastly, Lafayette Lim reminded participants that as they step onto the court this April, their passion for pickleball becomes a powerful force, fueling hope and tomorrow’s victories for House of Hope’s brave young cancer fighters.
