DCPO chief leads midnight operation in Brgy. 23-C; 4 drug suspects arrested

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) launched an Oplan Ronda in Barangay 23-C, resulting in the arrest of four drug suspects and the issuance of citation tickets to local ordinance violators during the early hours of Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026.

The operation, which ran from 10 p.m. on Tuesday to 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, was led by Col Mannan C. Muarip, acting city police director.

Personnel of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies (CMFC), Sta Ana Police Station 1, police auxiliaries, and barangay tanods also joined the operation.

Four individuals were apprehended for violations of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), owing to the “timely information” provided by a vigilant community. 

Accomplishments in Barangay 23-C included:

  • 15 minors were taken into custody for violating curfew hours 
  • 44 citation tickets were issued for various traffic offenses
  • 14 individuals were apprehended for loitering while half-naked, and
  • One citation ticket was issued for a violation of the city’s Anti-Smoking Ordinance.

Muarip emphasized that maintaining peace and order is a “shared responsibility.”
