DAVAO social media personality Crist Briand, popularly known as Brader, finds himself in hot water again after being declared persona non grata in Bauang, La Union.
Bauang Vice Mayor Tanya Roberta de Guzman announced the resolution on her Facebook page.
“The Sangguniang Bayan of Bauang has officially declared blogger ‘Crist Briand’ as Persona Non Grata in the Municipality of Bauang, La Union,” the post said.
The SB of Bauang passed the resolution during its 30th regular session on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
The move came after the vlogger posted a video “mockingly calling” Bauang the home of Boang (crazy).
“The Sangguniang Bayan of Bauang, La Union emphasized that while they respect freedom of expression, they will not tolerate blatant disrespect toward the municipality and its people,” the vice mayor said.
The move is a call to be more responsible in using social media platforms.
“This formal declaration serves as a manifestation of the community’s shared displeasure and a firm stand against online harassment and misinformation,” she stressed.
In the video reposted by Facebook page Boss Rage, Brader said “Yo brothers and sisters, naa nako diri sa mga lugar sa mga boang, diri napud ko magpuyo bay sa mga boang balanse ra diri lets go boang,” while pointing at the gate arch of the municipality.
In September 2025, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) issued a show cause order to Briand over a “disrespectful” social media post making fun of the concept of Halal by referring to a so-called “baboy na Halal.”
Brader apologized and vowed to refrain from repeating similar acts, with future offenses to be dealt with accordingly.
