THE DAVAO City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) announced that bus routes connecting Davao City directly to Zamboanga City are now available to the public, in time for the holiday season.

DCOTT manager Aisa Usop said the operations began Dec. 10 after securing approval from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in November.

“The new routes aim to address the concerns of the commuters who prefer to travel by land,” Usop said during the Habi at Kape forum on Wednesday.

The route has an estimated travel time of about 18-20 hours, with fares ranging from P1,278 to P1,598, depending on the discount.

The route operates two daily trips from Davao City, with departures scheduled at 10 p.m. for the first trip and 12 midnight for the 2nd trip.

Meanwhile, from Zamboanga to Davao City, the first trip is at 2 a.m. and the second trip is at 4 a.m.

The route is Davao-Digos-Kidapawan-Kabacan-Midsayap-Cotabato-Pagadian-Buug-Imelda-Ipil-Zamboanga (vice versa). Usop reported high passenger demand for the new route and hopes it will increase steadily, allowing them to expand operations.

DCOTT reminded the public to expect an influx of travelers in the terminal and urged the commuters to plan ahead.
