THE PHILIPPINE Eagle Foundation (PEF) kicked off the yuletide season with a month-long celebration of “Your Gifts Save Us: A Green Christmas at the Philippine Eagle Center” beginning Dec. 6.
The program officially launched at the Philippine Eagle Center (PEC) with a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony that was attended by representatives of PEF, Ayala Land Incorporated, Bank of the Philippines Islands (BPI), and local government units of Gigaquit, Maragusan, and Monkayo.
The event was more than just celebrating the festivity, but a day to honor strengthened partnerships, the continued efforts in forest rehabilitation, and safeguarding the Philippine Eagle, along with other endangered wildlife species.

This year’s Green Christmas also coincided with the launch of the “AgiLakbay: The Community Mosaic Painting,” a collaborative workshop facilitated by renowned artist Bing Famoso, where a Philippine Eagle portrait is divided into 40 individual tiles painted by participants.
Each painted tile reflects the idea of AgiLakbay of a collective journey of creativity and purpose. As the tiles are compiled together and complete the whole mosaic, it becomes PEC’s Christmas centerpiece to commemorate unity, art, and environmental advocacy.

PEF will also host other activities for the month of December, namely the Open Classroom Project: Christmas Edition, Pag-asa Volunteers’ Day, Socks for Species: Donation Kiosk, Weekend Bazaar for Conservation, Adopt-A-Critter: Be a Ninong/Ninang, and KINAIYA: UAPSA D1 x PAFNAM Mural Collaboration.
