Learning at Aboitiz is self-driven, synergistic, and holistic. It is a constant process of unlearning and relearning from oneself to the shared practices of others. These lessons stem from a variety of areas: leadership, functional expertise, and emotional intelligence—all working to complement business goals with their personal aspirations.

In order to achieve this, employees are encouraged to take ownership of their growth through self-paced learning platforms and immersive sessions like the Capability Building Sessions, where internal experts share insights and best practices. These programs are intentionally curated based on the learning needs of all teams across the company.

In this session under #BetterUs, team leaders learned how to navigate real workplace situations with psychological safety at the forefront.

As an example, AEV is in a continuous process of capacity-building, specifically in AI adoption and data literacy across all its departments. This is supplemented by their learning programs such as the AEV Data Sprints and GenAI Prompt Engineering, honing them to be more data-driven in making smarter decisions, innovations, and value-adding work.

                Beyond building technical excellence, Aboitiz also puts equal importance on taking care of its people. Through the #BetterUs initiative, A-People are supported across all five dimensions of well-being—purposeful, mental and emotional, physical, social, and financial.

Programs like the Psychological Safety Training for Leaders equip them with practical skills to listen actively, respond compassionately, and create safer environments for themselves and their teams. While the Group-wide Gallup Q12 survey measures engagement and sentiment, they view the essence of progress beyond the scores—they are found in the strengthened sense of community, alignment, and shared purpose among its people.
