DCPO arrests 87 individuals in week-long anti-crime drive

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested 87 individuals and seized over a million pesos worth of illegal drugs during a focused anti-crime campaign from Aug. 24 to Sept. 1, 2025.

Acting city director Col Mannan C. Muarip reported that the week-long operations yielded the following results:

Authorities confiscated 128.52 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P873,936, and 1,021.17 grams of marijuana valued at P122,540.40, from 32 operations that led to the arrest of 37 suspects.

Twelve anti-gambling operations resulted in the arrest of 14 gamblers. Police seized P3,094 in bet money and filed 12 cases in court.

Meanwhile, 33 individuals were arrested in different operations, including eight who were listed as most wanted persons.

Also, the DCPO conducted 13 operations that led to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of five firearms. An additional five firearms were turned in for safekeeping, and three cases were filed.

In a statement, Muarip underscored that these achievements were a product of the strong collaboration between the community, barangay officials, and the local government unit.
