THE Quick Response Team for Children’s Concerns (QRTCC) resolved 1,739 cases from January 2016 until the first quarter of 2026, making headway in giving justice to victims and pushing for their rights.

Jinky Roncal, head of QRTCC, said the team responds to cases of abuse, exploitation, and neglect, ensuring children at risk get help right away. She said a significant number of rescue operations involved sexual abuse, including street children.

Their data showed that most abuse cases were young girls, from 15 years old and younger, including infants. However, authorities emphasized that abuse isn’t limited to one age group as it can happen to children at any stage, from toddlers to preteens.

She said the incidents were recorded in several areas, particularly in Poblacion, Paquibato, and Marilog.

In Paquibato and Marilog, many of the reported cases involved sexual abuse. These areas continue to be identified as priority locations for response and protection efforts.

To strengthen child protection, daycare centers regularly include awareness of the Kian Gabriel hotline in their daily routines, helping children recognize abuse and know where to seek help.

Social workers are available in every barangay to help people who need support. The public is encouraged to report any cases through their hotline – 0908-818-4444 for the QRTCC or Kian Gabriel response team to quickly respond and give immediate help to victims.
