THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested the top high-value individual (HVI) during a buy-bust operation on Dec. 21.

The suspect, identified by the police as alias Master, was apprehended with suspected shabu valued at ₱140,000, according to DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon.

Acting DCPO chief Col. Mannan Muarip attributed the success to the coordinated efforts of the City Special Operations Group and the City Drug Enforcement Unit, led by Lt Col Randy P. Sambalod.

Muarip thanked the residents of Davao for their role as force multipliers, noting that intelligence-sharing and timely reporting from the community remain vital in exposing and disrupting criminal networks.

“This operation once again proves that when law enforcement and the community stand united, criminal activities are effectively exposed and dismantled,” Muarip said.

He reaffirmed that the city’s police force remains “resolute and relentless” in pursuing individuals who threaten public safety through illegal drugs.
