AN 18-YEAR-OLD driver is in police custody after hitting another vehicle along the Davao City Coastal Road on Wednesday night, which left a pedestrian dead around 7:20 p.m. on Jan. 28.

Police said the vehicles involved were two private SUVs and a pedestrian whose identity has not yet been released.

According to the initial investigation by PSSG Arnel Cañetan of the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), a Toyota Fortuner, driven by alias Nigel, 18, of Kidapawan City, was traveling from Bucana Bridge.

A Central 911 ambulance arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to the Southern Philippines Medical Center.

Despite emergency efforts, the pedestrian was declared dead on arrival at approximately 7:30 p.m. by the attending physician.
