TEAM KG Mercuries is crowned as the overall champion, winning 13 gold medals and one silver medal in the Kadayawan 2026 Davao City Athletics Open held at the University of Mindanao (UM) Matina Campus Track Oval.
The team championed at the running events in the 100m, 200m, 400m dashes, 110/100m hurdles, 4x100M and 4x400M relays. They also secured their gold medals in throwing events of shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw as well as jumping events of long jump and triple jump.
The 1st runner-up in the open category is Team Espana-Booster C Shot Energy with 10 gold, six silver, and two bronze medals, while the overall 2nd runner-up is UM Davao, gaining five gold, five silver, and seven bronze medals.
Team KG Mercuries tops the Men’s Team medal tally, ranking 1st place with 11 medals, followed by Team Espana-Booster C Shot Energy at 2nd place with four gold, four silver, and two bronze medals, and Pinoy Athletics is at 3rd place with three silver and one bronze medal.
The Kadayawan 2026 Davao City Athletics Open ran from Aug 8 to Aug 9, 2026, and was participated in by 955 athletes from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to compete in running, jumping, and throwing events.
The event is held annually to develop young participants in Davao City to become professionally trained athletes and build their confidence in joining major events.
