TESDA taps Bossjob’s AI-powered platform through ‘Skills Passport’ App to accelerate tech-voc employment

MANILA, Philippines — Bossjob, the chat-first career platform for professional hiring in Southeast Asia (SEA), has partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to bridge the gap between industry-standard skills and actual employment, ensuring a more efficient transition from graduation to the workforce of technical vocational education and training (TVET) graduates.

By integrating Bossjob’s AI-powered recruitment engine into the newly launched TESDA Skills Passport Mobile Application, the partnership provides a digital infrastructure designed to modernize the Philippines’ TVET ecosystem.

The partnership was formally announced during the official launch of the TESDA Skills Passport Mobile Application on February 5, 2026 at the Makabagong San Juan Theater in San Juan City. President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. graced the event and highlighted the administration’s commitment to skills development as a national agenda during his speech.

“Para sa ating TESDA scholars, mayroon kayong sariling digital storage kung saan mapapatunayan ang inyong National Certificate at mga training,” said President Marcos Jr.

Beyond job matching, Bossjob utilizes aggregated, anonymized platform data to provide TESDA with Labor Market Information (LMI). This framework offers insights into in-demand roles, geographic hiring patterns, and compensation trends, allowing TESDA to calibrate its training curricula to meet evolving market requirements.

According to TESDA’s current data, the sectors seeing the highest volume of postings for TESDA-certified talent include Social, Community Development, and Other Services; Wholesale, Retail, and Trading; Information and Communications Technology (ICT); Automotive and Land Transportation; Tourism, related to the Hotel and Restaurant industry; Healthcare Services; Creative; and Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery. The sectors indicate a consistent, high-growth demand for skills-based and nationally certified talent across the Philippine economy.

The partnership directly addresses the ‘middle-skills gap,’ as identified by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS). While TVET graduates demonstrate earning potential comparable to university undergraduates, research shows that current training systems often struggle to align with the evolving competencies required by priority sectors—such as digital services, renewable energy, and ICT.

By integrating Bossjob’s AI-matching engine into the Skills Passport, the platform bridges this gap, transforming verified TESDA certifications into a real-time, visible asset for employers.

To ensure employer trust, the app mandates registration via the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). By directly integrating data from TESDA-accredited training centers, the platform ensures all certifications are verified instantly, mitigating the risk of credential fraud.

Jobstreet by SEEK shares essential resume and interview tips at the WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025, boosting youth hireability

THE JOB market is becoming more competitive than ever for job seekers, with Jobstreet by SEEK recording a 179% year-on-year increase in job applications per job post on their platform. Which is why standing out from the get-go is a crucial step, with a strong resume and well-prepared interview playing a significant role in hireability. 

According to the leading online job market, 75% of resumes are rejected before they reach the hiring manager, and should an applicant be considered for the next step, hirers make use of the first 90 seconds during interviews to decide whether a candidate will be hired or not.

Turning these challenges into opportunities, Jobstreet by SEEK, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), hosted the “Ready, Set, Hired!” Education and Career Guidance Workshop at the recent WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025.

Attended by over a hundred candidates, the workshop provided a platform for Jobstreet by SEEK to engage directly with aspiring candidates, aimed at promoting skills excellence in the region and boosting youth employability.

During the workshop, participants gained knowledge on how to make their resumes stand out as Jobstreet by SEEK gave essential tips on how to write it effectively,  what details to highlight, and how to use strong action words to better communicate their strengths and potential. They also learned how to improve their interview skills, from doing company research to delivering confident responses and applying effective non-verbal communication

The workshop also provided how to dress for success, and hands-on activities where participants engaged in mock interviews and received advice from resume clinic experts and a style guide consultant, all led by SEEK volunteers.

“At Jobstreet by SEEK, we have seen how technical and vocational skills are becoming increasingly valuable in today’s digital economy. Through initiatives like ‘Ready, Set, Hired,’ we hope to empower more young professionals with the skills and confidence they need to succeed, helping them secure work opportunities,” said Dannah Majarocon, Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines managing director.

TP, TESDA launch training program for work-ready near-hires

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Philippines  – TP in the Philippines, a global leader in digital business services, was recently recognized as one of the pioneering enterprises in Negros Occidental to register as a partner in Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET), a flagship program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). 

With the implementation of the EBET Framework, TESDA aims to strengthen workforce development through enhanced skills training, improve employability, and bridge the gap between the education sector and the IT-BPM industry.

As an enterprise partner, TP will help implement the Near-Hire Communication Training Program. This 10-day, TESDA-accredited course is designed to develop work-ready communication skills for near-hires, equipping them for potential careers within the organization. This initiative also supports TESDA’s drive to expand university-industry collaboration, ensuring that Filipino workers are trained with skills that meet global market demands.

The training program’s curriculum features two modules: “Communication 101” and “Call Center 101.” The first module focuses on technical articulation—including pronunciation, grammar, thought organization, and conversational confidence—while the second primes students for the specific contact center environment.  The curriculum immerses them in the practical realities of the customer service experience, such as call flows, scripting, active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

Graduates of the program will emerge work-ready and equipped with the practical skills and confidence needed to succeed in the country’s fast-growing customer service sector.

“This program goes beyond skills training, giving students a tangible gateway as they step into meaningful careers in the IT-BPM industry,” said Jeffrey Johnson, chief people officer of TP in the Philippines.

TESDA likewise underscored the importance of this partnership. “By registering programs under EBET, you are ensuring that our trainees are not only competent, but also industry-ready. Enterprises can now dictate what skills and competencies they need, and TESDA now needs to respond as flexibly and quickly as we possibly can to be able to respond to a volatile, complex, and ambiguous world of work. TP’s commitment makes it possible for our learners to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real demands of the workplace,” said TESDA director general Jose Francisco Benitez.
