THE SECURITY checkpoint in Lasang flagged a drug suspect who yielded about half a million pesos worth of shabu on Wednesday morning, Sept. 16.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director PCOL Peter B. Madria commended the combined forces of Police Station 6 (Bunawan), led by PMAJ Janus Lumbaya Macli-ing, alongside the 1st City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) and Task Force Davao, for the successful interdiction.
According to the police report, the operation unfolded at approximately 5:10 a.m. at the fixed checkpoint established in Licanan, Lasang.
The suspect was flagged down during a routine security inspection upon entering the city. During the check, authorities spotted prohibited substances in plain view.
A subsequent inspection yielded suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P510,000.
The DCPO leadership emphasized that law enforcement units will maintain high vigilance across entry points into the region.
The arrested individual is now in police custody and facing formal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
