RIZAL Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) continues to champion cybersecurity and consumer protection by uniting with public and private sector leaders at the Scam Ready ASEAN Program National Convening, held at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Head Office in Manila.
Organized by the Bank Marketing Association of the Philippines (BMAP) in partnership with the ASEAN Foundation and the BSP, the gathering was led by BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat and ASEAN Foundation Executive Director Dr. Piti Srisangnam.
As the bank remains relentless in its commitment to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats and protect its customers, RCBC fully supports the ASEAN anti-scam initiative, which is regional capacity-building and a cyber-resilience initiative which aims to combat the surge in online fraud, AI deception, and cross-border telecommunications scams.
“As digital adoption grows, so do the threats facing consumers. Building a scam-resilient digital ecosystem requires collective action, stronger digital literacy, and a culture of vigilance. At RCBC, we believe that empowering Filipinos to recognize and report scams is just as important as strengthening our digital defenses. Through initiatives like Scam Ready ASEAN, we can build safer digital spaces where every Filipino can participate with greater confidence and trust,” said Lito Villanueva, RCBC executive vice president and chief innovation and inclusion officer and FinTech Alliance PH chairman.
RCBC strongly urges its customers and the public to remain vigilant and stay alert against suspicious activities and potential fraudulent scams. The bank reiterates that it will never request sensitive account details—including One-Time Passwords (OTPs), Personal Identification Numbers (PINs), Card Verification Values (CVVs), or online passwords—via phone calls, SMS, email, or embedded links. Clients are advised to terminate the interaction immediately should they encounter these activities.
Customers who notice unauthorized or suspicious transactions on their accounts are urged to report them right away by contacting RCBC Customer Care at (+632) 8877-7222 and RCBC Credit Cards customer care at (+632) 8888-1888.
