MANILA, Philippines — Holcim Philippines supported calls for clear, consistent, and inclusive policies to accelerate the country’s low-carbon transition during the Philippine Net Zero Conference 2026, held on September 16–17 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City.
As a member of the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA), Holcim Philippines remains committed to working with government, businesses, and communities to advance practical solutions for a net zero economy.
Holcim Philippines Chief Sustainability Officer Jill Ramos moderated Plenary Session 3, “Beyond the Pledge: Building the Policy Architecture for a Thriving Net Zero Economy.” The session examined the policies needed to translate climate commitments into concrete action, attract long-term investments, and sustain the country’s decarbonization efforts across political and economic cycles.
“Achieving net zero requires more than individual commitments. We need clear and consistent policies that encourage businesses to act, provide certainty for long-term investments and ensure that all sectors are compliant. Through stronger collaboration among government, the private sector and communities, we can turn our climate ambitions into practical solutions that support both economic growth and environmental progress,” Ramos said.
Panelists emphasized that clear policies, common standards, incentives and accountability mechanisms are essential to accelerating decarbonization. They also called for greater training and technical support as Philippine companies adopt sustainability and climate-reporting standards.
The session underscored the need for government, businesses and industry groups to work together to turn climate commitments into measurable action.
