Davao City – Some 40 teams are expected to show their wares in the 2026 Sepak Takraw Kadayawan tournament set this 21-22 August at the Davao City Recreation Center (formerly Almendras Gym).
The two-day tournament which allots 300K guaranteed cash pot for the winners is presented by First District Representative Paolo Duterte and the Puwersa ng Pilipinong Pandagat (PPP) Partylist led by Congressman Harold Duterte.

“This is the grandest so far for the Sepak Takraw community. Here we can showcase our talents which were presented and delivered medals from previous Philippine National Games (PNG) and BIMP-EAGA Games,” said tournament director Joey Libaton, a former University of Mindanao veteran kicker who also saw action in previous Games. He also added that former Davao-based RP team members will be in town to give short tips for the participants.
The tournament will be open for teams 16 years-old and above with free registration. Teams will play in a single round-robin elimination with the winners going to the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, in that order.
“This is part of Congressman Duterte and the PPP’s drive to discover local talents in a grassroots development program for the sport of Sepak Takraw. Garnering new local talents may push the city’s bid in participating national and international competitions,” added Joey Villarca, Chief of Staff of Congressman Paolo Duterte.
