  • Police dismantle ₱5.3-M drug pipeline, arrest 209 suspects

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) opened 2026 with a successful crackdown on crime, reporting over ₱5.3 million in seized illegal drugs and the arrest of hundreds of suspects for the month of January.

Acting city director Col Mannan C. Muarip said the DCPO conducted 181 operations, leading to the arrest of 209 drug personalities. 

During the month-long period, authorities confiscated 462.58 grams of suspected shabu and over 17.8 kilograms of marijuana.1,564 grams of high-grade marijuana “kush,” and 340 grams of marijuana oil.

The total estimated street value of the seizures reached ₱5,384,502.40, with 221 cases already filed in court.

The DCPO also arrested 181 individuals as it intensified its manhunt for fugitives. This includes 102 most wanted persons and 79 other wanted individuals.

In the effort to curb gun violence, 50 police operations against loose firearms resulted in 31 arrests and the confiscation of 27 guns. Another 15 firearms were turned over, while 11 others were recovered or handed over for safekeeping under “Oplan Katok.”

Illegal gambling crackdown

Meanwhile, police recovered ₱12,800 in bet money and handcuffed 43 individuals in 40 anti-illegal gambling operations. They also filed 38 cases against the suspects.

“These accomplishments were made possible through the unwavering support and strong collaboration with the community, barangay officials, and the local government unit,” Muarip said.
