RDRRMC XI: 7 dead in landslides, flashfloods in Davao Region
DAVAO Region is grappling with a persistent shear line that triggered high waters and landslides on Friday, Feb. 20.
According to the latest situation update from the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) XI on Feb. 20, 2026, the severe weather has left at least seven people dead .
The casualties included four individuals from Barangay Central, Mati City, and three from Barangay Rizal, Monkayo, Davao de Oro.
The weather condition displaced 10,267 people (2,411 families) across 48 barangays, with more than 3,300 individuals currently staying in 42 evacuation centers.
Critical lifelines have been severed, with two major roads in Monkayo and Montevista declared impassable to all vehicles.
Three bridges—including one provincial and two barangay bridges—remain impassable.
Local government units suspended work in 10 offices and halted classes for 45 schools across all five provinces of the Davao Region, including Davao City.
The RDRRMC has raised its status to Blue Alert, initiating close monitoring and response operations in landslide-prone areas in Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental.
