THE LAW enforcer implicated in alleged physical injury is not a member of Police Station 10 (Calinan), but is instead assigned to the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB).
In a statement to TIMES through phone , PMAJ Robel Batapa Saavedra, PS10 commander, clarified the identity and unit assignment of the alleged perpetrator following the preliminary investigation.
“That’s not our troop. It’s with the RPSB,” Saavedra stated.
Administrative charge to proceed
While police have withheld the exact identity of the personnel involved, Saavedra confirmed that the command will proceed with filing administrative charges against the officer in accordance with internal regulations.
Regarding criminal prosecution, police authorities are waiting for the victim and their family to decide on filing formal court charges.
“We are waiting for the family to decide, ma’am. Because prior to that, they haven’t decided yet,” Saavedra noted.
Call vs misinformation
The command reiterated its commitment to supporting the victims throughout the legal process while urging the public to avoid speculation.
“Police Station 10 Calinan remains committed to assisting the victims and their families and awaits their decision… We respectfully ask the public to avoid premature judgment and misinformation. Let the facts, evidence, and proper legal processes determine accountability,” the statement read.
Authorities assured the public that appropriate administrative and legal sanctions will be strictly pursued once investigations are finalized.
