Brig. Gen. Marion T. Angcao, the outgoing commander of the 1003rd Infantry Brigade, assumed the position of Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (G3) during a joint change of command ceremony on Sept. 1, 2025.
The event, which saw the installation of new chiefs for seven offices, was held at the Philippine Army headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
The ceremony was presided over by Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Ronald Jess S. Alcudia, who welcomed and witnessed the turnover.
The following senior officers officially began their new leadership roles:
- Brig. Gen. Marion T. Angcao: Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (G3)
- Col. Jonas B. Templo: Adjutant, Philippine Army (PA)
- Col. Geoffrey M. Carandang: Assistant Chief of Staff for Financial Management (G10)
- Col. William Victorino F. Upano: Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics (G4)
- Col. Marcel D.S. Figuracion: Chief of Ordnance and Chemical Service, PA
- Col. Marlo S. Jomalesa: Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence (G2)
- Col. Carlyleo P. Nagac: Secretary, Army General Staff, PA
During the ceremony, Alcudia relayed the guidance of the Army Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete, which focuses on improving the morale and welfare of the Army and contributing to the command’s Human Capability Development.
Alcudia also expressed his optimism about working with the new leaders to address the evolving needs and priorities of the armed forces.
Meanwhile, outgoing 1001st Infantry Brigade commander Brig Gen Felix Babac assumed command as the assistant division commander of 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division based in Pagadian city.
Also, former 1002nd Infantry Brigade commander Patricio Amata assumed the assistant division commander of the 6th Infantry Division.
