THE PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency XI mobilized its personnel around 5 a.m. on Sept. 19 to join the International Coastal Cleanup Day at Purok 3, Sitio Lawis-Malatabis, Barangay Lizada, Toril.

Led by regional director Atty. Benjamin G. Gaspi, the agency answered the call of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) XI, uniting with local officials, community members, and various government stakeholders to clear the coastline of marine pollution.

The PDEA XI personnel hauled accumulated waste while simultaneously campaigning for proper waste disposal and heightened environmental consciousness among residents.

Organizers emphasized that the massive multi-agency turnout was designed not only to restore coastal cleanliness but also to instill long-term ecological responsibility across local communities in Toril.

While primarily known for law enforcement and anti-illegal drug operations, PDEA XI underscored that its participation reflects a broader commitment to public welfare.

The agency leadership noted that protecting the environment and fostering inter-agency cooperation are vital pillars in building safe, healthy, and sustainable communities throughout the Davao Region.
