THE 89TH Araw ng Dabaw celebrations reached a peaceful peak this weekend as over 15,000 individuals gathered for a massive solidarity walk, marking a significant milestone for local security forces.

According to a situation report (SITREP) from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) as of 1:30 a.m. on March 29, 2026, all major festivities—including the Parada Dabawenyo and the Konsierto Dabawenyo—concluded “peacefully and normally” with no untoward incidents reported.

The highlight of the 28th day of the month-long celebration was the solidarity walk held at the Rizal Park open grounds. Crowd estimates peaked at approximately 16,000 individuals by 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The walk, which supported former President Rodrigo Duterte, transitioned smoothly into the evening’s cultural activities.

To ensure the safety of the massive crowd, a combined security force of over 524 personnel was deployed across key areas. This included 87 PNP personnel (including SWAT and Mobile Patrol Units, 437 security cluster members (Task Force Davao, Public Safety and Security Office, City Transport and Traffic Management Office, and the Philippine Coast Guard)

Minor medical cases

The City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office attended to two minor medical cases at the San Pedro Square: a 64-year-old female who suffered a fall and another individual with a minor abrasion. Both refused transport to the hospital after receiving on-site first aid.

The festivities continued well into the early hours of Sunday. The Konsierto Dabawenyo, featuring celebrity Bayani Agbayani and six local bands, drew a crowd of 6,500 at its peak before officially concluding at 1:16 a.m.
