A 31-YEAR-OLD male student was arrested after nearly ₱4 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from him at the Task Force Sirawan checkpoint in Toril District around 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025.
The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) identified the suspect only as alias Jade, a resident of Magsaysay, Carmen, Davao del Norte. He was arrested during a checkpoint when a Task Force Davao soldier operating the X-ray scanner noticed the suspect’s suspicious behavior.
As the passenger was about to place his bag on the X-ray machine, a small heat-sealed plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance, suspected to be shabu, fell to the floor.
PCpl Dela Rosa approached and asked him to lift his sweater, which revealed several plastic sachets of suspected shabu wrapped around his waist.
In total, authorities confiscated 12 sachets of the white crystalline substance, with an estimated street drug price of ₱3,757,000.00.
DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said the suspect will face a charge for violating Sec. 11, Article II of Republic Act (R.A.) 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
The confiscated evidence has been turned over to the Regional Field Unit XI for laboratory examination.
