THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) Thursday, July 31, launched a comprehensive actual simulation exercise to test and showcase its ambitious 5-minute police response time across various areas of responsibility within the city.
The drill, witnessed by members of the Davao media, demonstrated the rapid deployment capabilities of local police units.
The first exercise simulated a robbery incident in Jerome Ext, R. Castillo, Agdao, with the Bajada Police Station achieving a response time of 5 minutes and 11 seconds.
Following this, the Sasa Police Station responded to a simulated shooting incident near St. Peter Panacan, successfully reaching the scene in 4 minutes and 45 seconds.
Highlighting an exceptionally swift response, the San Pedro Police Station’s Motorcycle Patrol, augmented by drone technology, responded to a simulated hostage-taking incident at the Almendras Gym in a mere 27 seconds.
The SIMEX aims to validate the DCPO’s operational efficiency and readiness, reinforcing public confidence in the police force’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
