- Fire incinerates popular Balik Bukid restaurant
A FIRE hit a popular family restaurant along Quimpo Boulevard on Monday morning, Oct. 27, scorching Balik Bukid Farm and Kitchen and partially damaging the adjacent establishment.
The fire, which spanned an estimated 300 square meters, was reported at 8:46 a.m. at the Sandawa Park complex in Barangay 76-A.
Fire Senior Inspector Russell Jake Marañon, spokesperson for the Davao City Fire District Station, said JYZ Magdamo was partially damaged by the fire as firefighters and volunteers contained the blaze in time.
Responding units included personnel from Bucana S.I.R. Alpha (SLA 1624), Talomo Alpha, Central 911, Kabalikat Volunteers, and Barangay Bucana Volunteers.
According to the fire arson investigator, the first alarm was declared by the ground commander at 8:51 a.m.; the fire was placed under control by 9:08 a.m., and they declared a fire-out at 9:36 a.m.
Marañon confirmed that there were no reported injuries, fatalities, or missing persons in the incident. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by fire authorities.
