MAWAB, Davao de Oro — Mayor Myrill Apit reaffirmed the municipal government’s commitment to supporting local business owners, emphasizing faster and more efficient processing of business permits and approvals.

The initiative aims to establish a business-friendly environment in Mawab, encouraging entrepreneurship, boosting economic growth, and generating employment opportunities for residents.

Apit has instructed concerned offices to streamline procedures, reduce delays, and provide clear guidance to applicants.

“We want to make it easier for business owners to invest and operate in Mawab,” Apit said. “Our goal is to promote a dynamic local economy where businesses can grow and continue providing jobs to our people,” she added.

Along with the improved services, Apit also urged current and aspiring entrepreneurs to ensure that their operations are legal and compliant with municipal and national regulations.

The mayor said that while the municipal government is committed to nurturing a healthy business climate, it must likewise uphold fairness and accountability.

“We encourage everyone to follow proper procedures and secure the necessary permits before operating,” she noted.

“We fully support legitimate businesses, but those that choose to ignore legal requirements will face the appropriate actions, including closure if necessary,” Mayor Apit said.

The municipal government is also preparing capacity-building and assistance programs that will help MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises) navigate requirements and develop sustainable operations.

These efforts reflect Mawab’s ongoing drive to strengthen local commerce and ensure that growth is accompanied by safety, compliance, and equal opportunity for all business owners.
