THE MUNICIPALITY of Mawab officially welcomed the Christmas season with the ceremonial lighting of its Christmas decorations, transforming the town center into a festive display of lights, colors, and holiday cheer.
Residents, families, and local officials gathered at the municipal grounds to witness the lighting ceremony, which marked the start of the municipality’s Christmas and year-end celebrations. Illuminated Christmas trees, decorative arches, and colorful light installations lit up public spaces, drawing smiles from children and adults alike.
Mayor Myrill Apit said the Christmas lighting is a reminder of hope and unity among Mawabeños.
“Christmas is a time for hope, gratitude, and togetherness. As we light up our municipality, we also light up the spirit of unity and compassion in our community,” Apit said.
She added that the local government aims to create a joyful and welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors while encouraging everyone to celebrate the season with peace and generosity.
The municipal government also announced that the Christmas decorations will remain on display throughout the holiday season, as Mawab prepares a series of activities to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year.
