  • DCPO recovers getaway scooters of jewelry store robbers

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) continues to hunt down the robbers who stormed a jewelry shop inside a shopping mall in Buhangin around noontime on Saturday, April 11.

City director Col Peter Bauzon Madria said the police immediately cordoned off the area following the daring heist to secure the evidence. The Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered multiple fingerprints from the shop, which are currently undergoing analysis.

Investigators are also conducting extensive CCTV backtracking to trace the movements of the perpetrators.

Initial reports indicated that the robbers declared a hold-up and escaped with an undetermined amount of jewelry.

While the perpetrators fled on scooters, the investigating team later recovered the vehicles. They are now being processed for further clues.

Madria assured the public that the DCPO has strengthened its checkpoint and dragnet operations to track down the suspects.

“We will exhaust all efforts and resources to ensure those responsible are held accountable,” Madria said. “Criminal elements have no place in our city.”

Also, the DCPO urged the public to provide any information that could lead to an arrest. Concerned citizens can report to the nearest police station or contact DCPO hotlines directly.
