Major General Alvin Luzon, commander of the 10th Infantry “Agila” Division, emphasized the critical role of the Cafgu Active Auxiliary (CAA) as a vital extension of the Philippine Army during a “Commander’s Time” at the 10th Division Training School (10DTS) on Dec. 23.
Addressing the personnel of Class 16-22-2025 in Barangay Tuboran, Luzon described the CAA as a key force multiplier under the Integrated Territorial Defense System.
He noted that their presence is essential for maintaining security in remote areas where regular units may face terrain challenges.
“Discipline is the focal point of all CAA operations,” Luzon told the trainees, reminding them of their mission rooted in professionalism, unwavering loyalty to the Constitution, and a strict respect for human rights.
He outlined several responsibilities of the CAAs, including community security, assisting regular troops in identifying and engaging “lie-low” members of Communist Terrorist Group, and serving as first responders during calamities.
