JOBSTREET by SEEK, the leading online job platform, reaffirmed its commitment to bridging the gap between employment and entrepreneurship at the recent “Trabaho at Negosyo” initiative of Go Negosyo at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. By serving as a key institutional partner, Jobstreet by SEEK is championing its mission to provide a job for every Filipino while empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through digital transformation and AI readiness.

The “Trabaho at Negosyo” initiative aims to centralize MSMEs as primary drivers of high-value job creation. The platform’s participation highlights its role as a proactive enabler of this mission, providing the tools and insights necessary to build a future-ready workforce.

Attendees learned insights from industry experts at the plenary session and explored opportunities through the job fair with one-on-one or group mentoring sessions among jobseekers and MSMEs. The event also featured booths from government agencies (e.g., DTI, DOLE, SSS), enterprises, and employment support groups like Jobstreet by SEEK.

Bridging the skills gap in an AI-ready world

During the event’s plenary session, Jobstreet by SEEK emphasized that the skills gap among job seekers is real and growing. With 72% of employers now considering AI knowledge a critical hiring factor, the workforce is facing a rapid shift in the skills required for success. In fact, 40% of jobs are already influenced by AI, and 70% of employees are willing to reskill to stay competitive.

Looking ahead, 40% of workplace skills are expected to change by 2030, while 82% of employers want to upskill their current workforce. In response, Jobstreet by SEEK is actively helping Filipinos remain employable through its suite of free digital tools — these include the SEEK Pass, an employment passport that helps users verify and share their career credentials, the Market Insights platform for access to market and industry hiring trends, and the Job Search feature for AI-powered job matching.

“Upskilling is no longer optional; it’s how we stay competitive in an AI-influenced market. Whether you are looking for a job or looking for talent, we have built tools to make the process simpler, smarter, and more accessible,” said Joey Yusingco, Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines marketing head.

Empowering MSMEs and job seekers with free digital tools

Jobstreet by SEEK actively supported the community during the event with initiatives for both jobseekers and small businesses. The Resume Clinic offered free resume checks, profile optimization tips, and guidance on SEEK Pass, a secure digital passport that helps candidates stand out by confirming their credentials.

Meanwhile, MSMEs benefited from the MSME Support & Digital Demo, gaining free consultations and live demonstrations on digital hiring, including real-time salary benchmarks and hiring trends. Through the Talent Attraction Lab, the platform also shared insights on what Filipino candidates value most, like work-life balance and career growth, helping businesses attract and retain the right talent.

The partnership between Jobstreet by SEEK and Go Negosyo underscored a shared goal: reinforcing MSMEs as engines of inclusive growth. By offering two dedicated booth spaces and expert-led learning sessions, the collaboration ensured that both jobseekers and entrepreneurs had direct access to the resources needed to thrive in the modern economy.
