THE 89TH Infantry Battalion and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) of Bukidnon, alongside its partners, completed the Deradicalization and Reintegration Program for former rebels at the Quezon Municipality Conference Hall in Bukidnon on Nov. 4, 2025.

The graduation ceremony represented the government’s continuing commitment under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), designed to assist former rebels in their transformation into peaceful, productive, and law-abiding citizens.

Through the collaborative efforts of the PSWDO, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Quezon, and the 89th Infantry (Makatao) Battalion, the program ensures participants are fully reintegrated into their communities and become active advocates of peace and development.

Among the key officials present during the activity were Quezon Mayor Pablo M. Lorenzo III; Angelou Kaye T. Laureto, Balay Kalinaw in-charge; Lt. Col. Antonio G. Bulao I, battalion commander of the 89th IB; Capt. Ariel O. Asentista, Civil-Military Operations officer, and Capt. Sidrac C. Alicog, Charlie Company commander.

Bulao said, “Peace is built through understanding and cooperation. This initiative provides our former rebels a renewed opportunity to live in harmony and contribute to the progress of their communities.”

He also affirmed the 89th Infantry (Makatao) Battalion’s commitment to peacebuilding and nation-building by supporting programs that promote reconciliation, rehabilitation, and reintegration, thereby paving the way toward a more peaceful and united Bukidnon.
