A MID-MORNING fire razed a two-story school building and several auxiliary structures at Catalunan Pequeño National High School on Monday, March 23, causing “total damage” to school property.

The Davao City Fire District received the alarm at approximately 11:04 a.m. Firefighters immediately responded to the DepEd-owned facility, where the blaze had already spread across the school’s storage areas and the main two-story structure.

According to initial reports, the fire reached the 1st alarm status. While the main school building and two stock rooms were declared “totally damaged,” a nearby comfort room sustained only partial damage.

Fire crews managed to bring the flames under control by 11:23 am, with a final “fire out” declared at 11:42 am

Authorities confirmed that there were zero casualties, injuries, or fatalities reported during the incident.

Arson investigators are currently on-site to determine the cause of the fire and the total estimated cost of the property damage.

School officials have yet to release a statement regarding the impact on classes and the relocation of affected students.
