Globe marks the 12th edition of its Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA@12) with a sharpened focus on grassroots empowerment and digital inclusion, putting a spotlight on stories that help transform everyday lives through new opportunities and access to technology.

With the theme “Digitally Forward: One Barangay at a Time,” GMEA@12 celebrates journalism and storytelling that highlight how technology is being brought closer to micro-communities, enabling families to thrive, businesses to grow, and communities to participate in building a progressive nation. This aligns with the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s agenda on digital inclusion.

“We continue to be inspired by journalists and content creators who shine a light on the realities faced by disadvantaged communities across the country. Their work not only informs but also drives positive change,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe. “GMEA is our way of honoring storytellers who embody purpose in action, those who lead with integrity, elevate truth in an evolving media landscape, and help shape a future where no one is left behind.”

Anchored on Globe’s vision of a better Philippines, GMEA honors stories that create impact. These are truths told with heart, shared across platforms, and amplified with purpose. Entries will be judged based on content, storytelling style, impact, and integration.

In line with this framework, the Integrated Media and Digital Storytelling categories will feature both First Place, Second Place, and Third Place distinctions, while Special Awards will be given exclusively to First Place winners.
