IN CELEBRATION of joy, togetherness, and the holiday season, this year’s Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort on Nov 11 honors the rich culture of the Mansaka tribe.

The Christmas tree is woven with the craftsmanship of the Mansaka tribe tradition that celebrates shared harvest and unity with nature, created in collaboration by the resort’s local artisans and community partners.

As the tree illuminates, the values of hope, connection, and the beauty of coming together are commemorated, which are cherished by the people of Davao de Oro and the resort’s island.

Each color and woven element reflects the gratitude for the lands and sea, blessings shared through family and community, and the harmony of cultures that make the province unique

More than just a tree lighting event, it supports the beneficiaries from the Mansaka and Kagan tribes through the ongoing “Spirit of Hopes” initiative.

Key representatives from both tribes, Torre Lorenzo Development Corporation, Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort’s management, and the local government unit of Davao de Oro attended the special evening.

Dusit Thani Residence Davao also kicked off a similar Christmas tree lighting ceremony last Nov 6, themed “Paskong Kayumanggi” with the tree crafted by local artisans from Laak, Surallah, Cateel, and Monkayo.
