THE DEPARTMENT of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) XI has pre-positioned family food packs (FFPs) and non-food items (NFIs) across warehouses and sites in the region to ensure immediate disaster response.
As of Feb. 5, there are 91,807 available family food packs: 53,341 FFPs are in the Panacan warehouse, and 11,929 FFPs are in the Bago Oshiro warehouse.
For non-food items, there are a total of 26,259 packs, while other food and non-food items (FNIs) amount to ₱72,611,535.
For the prepositioned FFPs by province, there are 8,031 in Davao de Oro; Davao Occidental- 3,938; Davao del Sur-2,822; Davao del Norte-2,776, and Davao Oriental-8,970.
In Davao de Oro, 5,000 FFPs, 1000 ready-to-eat food, and 100 hygiene kits are ready for deployment.
Meanwhile, a total of 5,000 FFPs are prepared for the four municipalities of Davao Oriental: 1000 each for Baganga and Lupon; and 1,500 each for Cateel and Tarragona.
DSWD XI stated that the standby funds amounted to ₱3 million.
Tropical cyclone Bulletin No. 10 issued February 5 at 2 pm placed the municipalities under TC Wind Signal No. 1, along with Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, and the northern portion of Davao del Sur (Davao City).
However, Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 16 as of 8 am, these municipalities are no longer placed under TCWS as Basyang is now over the Bohol Sea and heading towards Central Visayas.
Class and work in some municipalities are still suspended as of February 6. This includes Davao City, Davao del Norte (City of Panabo, Island Garden City of Samal, and municipality of Sto. Tomas, San Isidro, Kapalong, Carmen, New Corella, Braulio E. Dujali, Asuncion, and Talaingod); Davao de Oro (New Bataan, Compostela, Maragusan, Montevista, Nabunturan, Mawab, Maco, Pantukan, Mabini, Laak, Monkayo)
As of 5 p.m. on Feb. 5, Davao Oriental, as of 12 noon, class and work in the Municipality of Caraga are suspended, while only classes are suspended in the City of Mati, Boston, Cateel, Baganga, Lupon, Banaybanay, San Isidro, and Manay.
