Davao City provides P5.9-M financial aid to Typhoon Tino victims

A TOTAL of P5.9 million in financial aid is extended to several local government units that declared a State of Calamity following Typhoon Tino.

The ordinance, authored by Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, chairperson of the committee on finance and appropriations, was approved during the regular session on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

The City Government of Davao allocated P5.9 million in financial assistance to several local government units that have declared a state of calamity following the devastation of Typhoon Tino.

The ordinance authorizing the financial aid was approved by the 21st City Council on December 2, 2025.

The aid will be sourced from the 30% Quick Response Fund from the 5% Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund of the City Government of Davao for 2025. 

The financial assistance covers the following:

  1. Province of Dinagat Islands- P1 million
  2. Cebu City- P500,000
  3. City of Bago, Negros Occidental- P500,000
  4. City of Canlaon, Negros Oriental- P500,000
  5. City of La Carlota, Negros Occidental- P500,000
  6. City of Danao, Cebu- P500,000
  7. Municipality of Compostela- P300,000
  8. Municipality of Balamban- P300,000
  9. Municipality of La Castellana- P300,000
  10. Municipality of Binalbagan- P300,000
  11. Municipality of San Enrique- P300,000
  12. Municipality of Pontevedra- P300,000
  13. Municipality of Isabela- P300,000
  14. Municipality of Pototan, Iloilo- P300,000

Dayanghirang said this leaves the city with an available balance of P201,375,187.

To note, Cebu province, cities, and municipalities that declared a State of Calamity after the Magnitude 6.9 earthquake last Sept. 30, 2025, were also provided financial aid totaling P3.9 million.

Davao City also extended financial aid totaling P2.7 million to the Davao Oriental province, cities, and municipalities that declared a state of calamity after the Magnitude 7.4 and 6.9 earthquakes last Oct. 10, 2025.
