DAVAO City was among the country’s 10 largest provincial and highly urbanized city (HUC) economies in 2025, according to reports from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The city recorded a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Php 601.68 billion at constant 2018 prices, accounting for 2.6% of the country’s total GDP in 2025

While it is down by five places from being 5th in 2024, the city is the only economy outside Luzon to rank among the Top 10.

To note, Davao City’s 2024 performance recorded economic growth of 7.9% and reached a GDP of Php 574.72 billion.

It ranked fifth among the 33 HUCs in terms of GDP share of the national economy in 2024, contributing 2.6%.

However, the 2025 performance placed Davao City in the Top 10, behind Quezon City, which posted P1.40 trillion; City of Makati (P1.27 trillion); Province of Laguna (P1.14 trillion); and City of Manila (P1.06 trillion) who were the only ones to reach a trillion-peso GDP in 2025.

The city also lagged behind Cavite (P875.67 billion); Batangas (P713.22 billion); Bulacan (P694.81 billion); City of Taguig (P686.68 billion) and Pampanga (P627.89 billion).

Quezon City continued to have the largest share of the national GDP at 6.0%, followed by the City of Makati at 5.5%, Province of Laguna at 4.9%, and City of Manila at 4.6%.

The city, however, did not make it to the Top 10 Fastest-Growing HUCs in terms of GDP annual growth rates.

In 2024, Davao City posted 7.9% annual growth, ranking 5th among all 33 HUCs, well above the national GDP growth rate of 5.7% that year.

Davao City’s GDP moved from PhP 574.72 billion (2024) to PhP 601.68 billion (2025), implying roughly 4.7% year-on-year economic growth.

The rate is close to but slightly above the 2025 national rate of 4.4%, and a marked deceleration from the 7.9% pace the year before.

The 2025 Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) released by the PSA on Aug. 28, 2026, covered the economic performance of all 82 provinces and 33 HUCs in the Philippines.
