FRESH pineapples (MD2) from Davao were officially exported to the United Arab Emirates, a milestone for strengthening agricultural exports and expanding global market opportunities for local producers.
The send-off ceremony was held on June 6, 2026, at the Unifrutti Wharf in Tibungco, Davao City, through Avante Agri-products Philippines, Inc., and Mensch Filam Trading.
Davao City-based agricultural company, Avante Agri Products Philippines Inc., also ships pineapples to Singapore.
Mensch Fil-Am Corporation (often referred to as Mensch Fil-Am Trading) is an agricultural trading company based in Davao City, specializing in growing and exporting fresh Philippine produce such as MD2 pineapples to international markets like Japan, South Korea, the Middle East, and North America.
“The event highlighted the continued expansion of Philippine agricultural exports and showcased the growing demand for Davao-grown pineapples in the international market,” the Department of Agriculture XI said in a statement on Sunday.
The event was organized by the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Plant Industry through the National Plant Quarantine Services Division XI.
DA XI said the export shipment reflects the quality, safety, and competitiveness of locally produced pineapples while creating greater market opportunities for farmers and agribusiness stakeholders in the region.
“DA-11 reaffirmed its commitment to supporting programs and partnerships that enhance market access, improve the competitiveness of agricultural commodities, and strengthen the country’s position in the global export market,” it said.
