DAVAO CITY – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board – Region XI (LTFRB XI) proudly recognized on August 4, three outstanding drivers as “Tsuper Heroes” for their exceptional honesty, compassion, and commitment to public service.
These everyday heroes serve as powerful reminders that kindness and integrity still thrive on the road. The awardees are:
- Ferdinand P. Lim, a Tourist Transport driver of Diamond Ace Tours Transport Service, who returned a lost iPhone 15 to its rightful owner without hesitation.
- Edilberto A. Optana, a taxi driver of HVT Golden Star OPC, who found P29,000 in cash left behind by a passenger and immediately turned it over.
- Edwin M. Hermosilla, a jeepney driver, who, after finishing his duty, chose to help a passenger who had wrongly boarded his jeepney and was unfamiliar with the area. Edwin went out of his way to bring her safely to her destination- free of charge, even though it meant delaying his own trip home. The grateful passenger later shared her experience on Facebook, praising his kindness.
LTFRB XI Regional Director Nonito “Dondon” Llanos III praised the awardees,
“These drivers are not just steering vehicles, they are steering the values of our community. Their actions reflect the very best of what we want our transport system to be-not just efficient, but compassionate and trustworthy.”
RD Llanos further encouraged the public not to generalize the transport sector based on isolated incidents, “Dili ta magpadala sa mga negatibo nga mga komento sa uban tungod lamang sa mga dili maayong binuhatan sa usa. Let us be reminded that there are many more like Ferdinand, Edilberto, and Edwin.”
The Tsuper Hero is part of LTFRB’s continuing initiative to promote a culture of honesty, service, and excellence within the public transport sector. Through this recognition, the agency hopes to inspire more drivers to uphold the highest standards of conduct and service and go the extra mile.
