THE CITY government issued guidelines for the visiting public in the cemeteries for the Kalag-kalag or Undas season.
For instance, gates of the public cemeteries will open at 6 a.m. and will be closed at 8 p.m. from Oct. 30 until Nov. 3, 2025. Strictly, no overnight stay policy in public cemeteries. The management of private cemeteries can implement different operating hours and may allow overnight stay at their discretion.
A “One Entrance Policy” will be enforced, but vehicles are required to follow a “One Entrance, One Exit” policy.
Public cemeteries will not schedule any burial, internment, or cremation from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, except for special cases such as immediate burials.
The “Clean As You Go” practice is required for all visitors, and trash must be disposed of at designated collection points upon leaving the cemetery premises. All visitors are required to comply with all protocols, rules, and procedures as imposed by the safety and security cluster.
Wearing face masks is highly recommended for the elderly, individuals with comorbidities, immune-compromised, pregnant, unvaccinated, and symptomatic. Medical tents set up will be available at the entrance of all cemeteries to respond to any medical emergencies.
Traffic rules, routes, designated parking areas, and vehicle prohibitions based on the Traffic Management Plan will be published by the City Transport and Traffic Management Office.
The use of drones and firearms is strictly prohibited, including wearing jackets, bringing backpacks, playing loud music or karaoke, gambling, bringing alcoholic drinks, and carrying pointed objects.
Pedestrian crosswalks near and outside the premises of cemeteries must be free from vendors, food carts, and other obstructions at all times. Finally, vagrants, loiterers, and scavengers are prohibited and will be denied entry in all cemeteries.
