EMPLOYEES at the Alorica Building in Matina IT Park were briefly shaken Monday afternoon following an alleged bomb threat that was later declared a hoax by local authorities.

According to a report from the Technical Operation Command (TOC-DCPO), a caller identifying himself as “Mr. Fritz” contacted the station at approximately 3:55 p.m., claiming an explosive device had been planted inside the building.

Responding to the call, a team led by station commander Maj Philip Dave A. Uddin and personnel from the City Ordnance Unit, Task Force Davao, and the 1st City Mobile Force Company immediately secured the area.

Specialized teams, led by PLt. Jun-jun C. Magante conducted a thorough “paneling” and inspection of the premises using two K-9 sniffing dogs. After nearly two hours of searching, the operation concluded at 7:30 p.m. with no explosives found.

Authorities have officially declared the workplace safe but noted that they will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with building management to ensure its security.
