THE FIRST Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Davao Golf Classic offers grand prizes of cash and other rewards for competing golfers on Nov. 23 at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf & Country Club.
Cash prizes include a total worth of P400,000 with P250,000 worth of vouchers, P150,000 on appliances, and P100,000 cash on each par three hole.
IBP Davao City Chapter president Atty Ferdinand Taglucop highlighted customized trophies worth P230,000 plus a voucher worth P1,500 for each player.
Around 150 to 180 players will join for the golf tournament, along with 40 to 45 participants expected in the lawyers’ divisions and other chapters. The IBP presidents of different chapters, previous presidents of the IBP Davao City chapter, Court of Appeals justices, and Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go will also attend the upcoming event.
IBP Davao Golf Classic will also support beneficiaries through free legal aid services and raise funds for the rehabilitation of the IBP Davao office and rooms to serve the less fortunate.
Tournament organizer Paul Garcia said the event is open to the public and all amateur golfers. Registration fee costs P3,500 inclusive of green fee, giveaways, awards night (awarding ceremonies at Palos Verdes), and dinner buffet.
The tournament format will be individual and team competition (two players per team), and a scoring system of modified stableford scoring using Molave points (54 points).
Individual competition consists of Men’s division, Ladies’ division, Senior’s division, and Classes A, B, and C.
For team competition based on team handicap will be Divisions 1 (0-9), 2 (10-17), and 3 (18 -27), while the all lawyers division (mini tournament) will only contain two divisions.
